A Step in the right Direction
It has been over a year since the UK Advertising Standards Authority rulings and the application of the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Code on the advertising of ticket prices to be ‘inclusive’ of all fees. Read the details here
This was one of the most significant pieces of policy to affect the ticketing industry for sometime, now backed by legislation since 13 June 2014. A number of vendors reacted immediately to enable their systems to comply with the CAP rules, because, after all, an Internet Ticketing Engine is defined as an advertising medium, and many ticketing systems directly feed the website pricing display through their modules or API.
So, we wrote to registered vendors and asked for an update on their system and how it complied, and/or changes they had made to allow compliance. We had responses from Spektrix, PatronBase, AudienceView and TopTix.
